I want to preserve a rose and a carnation from the funeral.
How is the best way to preserve flowers?
Silica Gel .......it preserves the color and shape the best of any other method. It can be reused, but keep it away from kids and pets. You can buy it at any craft store, Michael's, Jo-Ann Fabrics, probably Wal-Mart too.
Reply:you may try refrigeration , to keep longer you may try drying it out in a brown paper bag ,by putting flower in bag tying bag close with a string long enough to hang it near a dry area , when dry you may want to put in your scrap book under plastic.
Reply:keep them cool and believe it or not put a little bit of 7up in the water.
Reply:Put them in the fridge and add a teaspoon of sugar into the vase.
Reply:You can buy a flower press. This will preserve your flowers very well, and you can put them in a scrapbook or in a frame that will keep them safe and accesible for you to look at whenever you want. Also, you can press the flowers between heavy books, making sure there is scrap paper between the book and the flower, instead of going out and buying a press.
Reply:pull the flower out from the root .. then hang them upside down in a dark room for rew days .. they stay as they are and dry out
Reply:after a flower is cut they dont last long but if you want them to last then put them in a vase of warm water and a asprin in the water warm water keeps flowers longer than cold water. then if you want to keep them forever tye the stems together then hang them upside down in a cool dry dark place such as a closet and they will dry up-then press them in between wax papper between 2 thick books for a month or two then bring them out and put in a scrap book or photo album and sorry for the loss of a loved one.
Reply:Turn upside down, tie is somewhere where it can hang, and spray it with holding hair spray... this usually works for roses, so should do for carnations as well
good luck
Reply:wrap flowers in paper(newspaper) and keep in the refridgerator.
